The characters and basic quality indexes, the possible causes and influence factors of the “Black Water Aggregation” were explained. At last, the prevention measures against the “Black Water Aggregation” were introduced. The suggestions for the improvement of the paper include: (1) Please describe the cause of BWA formation in detail. The paper seems just reported the chemical-physical phenomenon of the BWA. (2) Some conclusion sounds farfetched. For example, the paper listed some indictors of BWA such as dimethyltrisulfide, but there were no data to prove how dimethyltrisulfide indicate the BWA. (3) “Based on tracking and monitoring of BWA, analysis on water qualities, algae blooms, sediment distribution and meteorological and hydrological data over a long period, the opinion is that large-scale blue algae bloom, accumulation and contaminated sediment are mainly blamed for BWA occurrence” How does these indicators impact the BWA? (4) Chlorophyll-a, DO, pH and water temperature are water quality indicators, the paper use these indicators to represent the BWA. Are these indicators typical? Why did you choose them? (5) In Part 4 there were some investigated data of water qualities, algae blooms, sediment distribution and meteorological and hydrological, but the authors didn’t give detail interpretation of the formation of BWA. (6) The control and prevention measures of BWA in Part 5 are not corresponding to the other parts and some measures brought up lack of data supports. (7) The color map has to be changed as it is a Chinese labeled map. (8) The contents of prevention measures may be discarded as the effects of those measures were too obvious and not worthy to the readers to obtain new information.
