So today the topic of my lecture is the fairy-tale world of ice and snow.first,let me introduce the speaker of this TED. As you can see on the ppt, He is Paul Nicklen,a photographer of national geographic.he comes from canada and he is also a polar animal protector.now pauls journey to become a polar specailist in polar region began when he was only four years old.his family moved from southern canada to Greenland.There they lived with Inuit in the tiny Inuit community.And in this community, they didnt have a television, a computer and even a radio or telephone.all of his time was spent outside,playing with iniut and the snow.thats where he became truly obsessed with the poalr realm. Since then,he wanted to be someone to share the charm of this beautiful land with all the people and protect it.next,lets enjoy a short video of the charmful polar realm. We can feel how beautiful the polar realm is. However,were all familiar with the news that the sea ice is disappearing. In fact,scientists were originally saying the sea ice is going to disappear in the next 100 years,then they said 50 years.and now, theyre saying the sea ice in the arctic is going to disappear in the next four to ten years. And what does that mean? If we lose ice ,we wil lose the entire ecosystem.maybe we could lose polar bears .they could become extinct in the next 50 to 100 years. With the ice disappearing ,what will the future be like?more and more dead bears have been found in the Arctic.when paul worked in polar region 20 year
