Differing from the ancient temple events, it relates to the commodity economy. Therefore,it is known as commodity race or commodity fair.The reseach on it started in the 1980s and became active in the end of the 1990s and the early 21st century. The reseach includes roughly the commodity race’s starting, process and influence. It also includes case study and the important people research and so on. But in terms of the form, there are more papers than books.And in terms of the content, there are more case narrative and introduction than the systematic discussion from different perspective which correlates with social change in modern China. Overall, the reseach is still in its infancy and many related areas are not coverd. Especially the overall study of modern exhibition is insufficient. My master’s thesis is titled“The research on the late Qing economic New Deal and the domestic commodity race”.I try to study on that topic from the view that how the economic New Deal promoted the commodity races in late Qing dynasty. My paper concerns some important races hold in Beijing,Tianjin,Sichuan,Wuhan and Nanjing. I correlate the government’s economic policy with these races. The general structure of my paper is as follows: The first chapter essentially writes the late Qing economic New Deal and the origin of the domestic commodity race.
