* Numerical Validation The comparison for Moment FEM results Test results Test 1 Test 2 Test 3 1. The values of moment from FEM model mostly captured the model test results. 2. Lining moment in T3 was sharply different from T1 and T2 both in values and shapes. 3. A position bias for maximum positive moment also can be found from the FEM model. 4. The maximum positive moment position bias was smaller than the model test results, which can be explained by the limitation of strain measurement. * Numerical Validation Effects of interface location 1. The increase of sand layer thickness within the tunnel section can almost linearly reduce the convergence deformation of the lining structure 2. The deformation was also strongly influenced by the appearance of multi-layer (α=0,1) Convergence deformation * Numerical Validation Effects of interface location 1. The increase of sand layer thickness within the tunnel section appeared to linearly reduce the lining moment behavior, especially for the bottom of tunnel which was at clay layer side. 2. The variation of relative modulus has a significant impaction both on the structure deformation and lining moment. 2. The moment at spring line of tunnel was the most vulnerable property to the β variation. 3. The interface at the spring line may strongly enlarge the β variation impaction on the moment at spring line location. * Soil inhomogeneous does affect the mechanical property of the shield segment linings. Due to the soil inhomogeneous around tunnel, the moment of the segment will be no long symmetrical. The magnitude of soft sides moment will be larger than the hard side. The maximum of the positive moment will move from the horizontal to the bottom. Due to the soil inhomogeneous around tunnel, the displacement of the segment will be asymmetrical.
