H ow ev er, th ese cou ldn t drag th e p ace of th e dev elopm ent of A rch ival S cience. In 1990s, a subversiv e theory C anad ian M acroappraisal w as b orn . T hu s, th is th esis inten ds to develop a h istorical, com prehen sive, critical analysis of the practice and theory of C anadian M acroappraisal, so that w e could h ave a through understanding of M acroappraisal and stim u late the developm ent of C h ina A rch iv a l S c ien c e . In later 1990 s, th e arch iv al w ork o f C an ada w as faced w ith a series o f troub les : th e boom ing of pap er records, th e em ergence of electronic record s, the failure of arch ival appraisal system ，som e scandals cau sed by th e arch iv al appraisal, th e in effectiveness of T .R .
