人教新课标高二寒假（必修5、选修6）重点知识复习回顾 并经典寒假作业（附答案） 经典短语归纳（一） 1. a number of 许多，大量 例句：A number of young graduates are waiting for the interview. 拓展：表示“许多，大量”的常用短语还有：a great / good many和a good / large number of （+复数名词）；a good / great deal of和a large amount of （+ 不可数名词）；plenty of，a lot of / lots of，a large quantity of（+ 复数名词或不可数名词）。 注意：a number of和the number of 后都可跟复数名词作主语，但a number of 表示“许多，大量”，且句中的谓语动词用复数形式；而the number of表示“……的数量”，句中的谓语动词要用单数形式。如：The number of private cars has been increasing these years. 2. as a consequence 因此 例句：He was often late for work. As a consequence, he was fired. 拓展： consequence构成的其他短语有： as a consequence of / in consequence of 由于；作为……的结果。如：As a consequence of his carelessness, the whole project was ruined. as a consequence的近义短语：as a result； as a consequence of 的近义短语：as a result of 3. be similar to 和……相似 / 类似 例句：My opinion is similar to yours, so I needn’t speak it out. 拓展：similar构成的其他常用短语：be similar in在……方面类似。 如：The twin brothers are similar in their appearance and shape. 4. from time to time 不时；偶尔；间或 例句：She didn’t feel well and turned over in bed from time to time. 拓展： time构成的其他常用短语：ahead of time 提前；at a time每次；at one time从前；一度； all the time一直；始终；in no time立刻；马上；in time及时；迟早；on time按时；准时； at the same time同时。 from time to time的近义词和短语：occasionally，now and then 5. draw one’s attention 引起……的注意 例句：The strange sound drew our attention, and we all looked back to find something. 拓展： attention构成的其他常用短语：pay one’s attention to 注意； fix / concentrate / focus one’s attention on把注意力集中在……上。 draw one’s attention的近义短语：call / catch / attract / hold one’s attention 6. in general 一般来说；总的来说 例句：In general, women like to shop and men like to stay at home on weekends. 拓展：in general的近义短语：generally speaking一般来说；in a word总之； on the whole大体上；基本上；总的来说。 注意：in general和general speaking一般放在句首；而on the whole既可放在句首，也可放在句中。 7. leave out 遗漏；省略；不考虑 例句：You left out the possibility that the train might be late. 拓展：leave构成的其他常用短语：leave aside搁置；不考虑； leave behind超过；把……抛在后面；
