A b stra ct
V ocabu lary learn ing is a basic part of langu age learning and cru cial to the second
language proficiency. B ut vocabu lary learn ing is the m ost difficu lt learn ing task for m o st
students. T he u se of vocabu lary learn ing strategies can im prove the students vocabu lary
learning efficiency. In the thesis, it is v iew ed that learning E nglish vocabulary m akes great
contribution to the im provem ent of E ng lish study. In order to im prove the students E nglish
level, qualified acqu isitions of the vocabu lary easily w ipe off the b iggest obstacles in
listening, speak ing, reading and w riting . So the author m ade a study on E ng lish vocabu lary
learning strategies training in the junior m iddle school.
In order to solve the problem of tim e-consum ing and poorly-efficient E nglish
vocabulary learning, the study focuses on the training of four vocabu lary learning strategies
(V L ST ) to help students m em orize vo cabulary. T hese four strategies tend to stim u late the
students im ag ination and their interest in E ng lish learning, and fina
