Text Structure “Swimming through fear” is a narrative that touches upon the author’s personal experience in how he mustered (鼓起) all his courage from his potential strength to fight the psychological fear of water in the face of the critical moment to save a drowning boy. The author intends to prompt the reader to understand how to conquer one’s physical or psychological fear that hides in the depth of one’s mind. Text Structure Part One (paras 1-3) It is the introduction of the whole piece of narration. Part Two (paras 4-17) It is the development of or the plot of the narrative, containing four sections to illustrate how the author summoned up his courage to fight his inner fear of water and saved the drowning boy.
