英语语言学 David Nunan Resume Research His major research interest over twenty years has been the investigation of second language acquisition in tutored environments.? In this area, He has investigated the discourse characteristics and patterns of interaction which facilitate second language acquisition.? He has also carried out research in the areas of curriculum planning, monitoring and evaluation, and second language teacher education.? In his current research, He is investigating the acquisition of written discourse in tertiary contexts. He has carried out research projects in Australia, the United Kingdom, Southeast Asia, Japan, Brazil, and the Middle East. One of his research projects, a large-scale investigation of the curriculum development practices of language teachers was short-listed for the 1990 TESOL International Distinguished Research Award. Publications He has published over 30 books and 100 articles and reports in the areas of curriculum and materials development, classroom-based research, language education, language acquisition, discourse analysis and teacher education.? And he has written a number of series of textbooks for students learning English as a second/foreign language.? One of the textbook series, Go For It, has recently been selected and adapted by People’s Education Press as a basal textbook series for middle schools in China. Presentations He has given over two hundred and fifty presentations at national and international conferences.? These include plenary addresses at conferences in the United States, the United Kingdom, Australia, Singapore, Thailand, Japan, China, Taiwan, Korea, Papua New Guinea, Sri Lanka, and Brazil.?
