Des igned exper i ents w ere conduc ted in the established syste to investigate the character istics of nitrogen accu u la tion in different plan ts and the contr ibution of p lant nitrogen uptake to tota l n itrogen re oval of the construc ted w e tland syste . T he resu lt show s that the direct contribution by plant uptake to the tota l n itrog en re ova l is low, ca. 1% 3% w ith in the nitrogen concentration rang e 375556 g / L in the influent.
