Starting w ith external fuse group exp losion of 35 kV ca- pacitor at certain substation; based on PSCAD, the fau lt process is smi ulated and analyzed and fault reproduction is made accord ing to site record, electrical test result and installation of capacitor after the fault. The lesson on the fau lt is summarized through analysis and d iscussion of the fau lt, and some mi provement suggestions are proposed so to provide reference for the future operation.
