Finally, Heathecliff himself has become a ghost imprisoned in his morbid love towards Catherine. Character Analysis The positive parts： Love Kindness Fortitude Love Heathecliff had strong love in his heart. It is a kind of natural and pure love. He loved Catherine more than himself. His love to Catherine was faithful and long-lasting. Kindness Influenced by kindhearted Mr. Earnshaw, Heathecliff’s natural kindness was stimulated. When Mr. Earnshaw died, he was desperately sad and set up a heart-breaking cry. From that we can see his natural kindness. Fortitude Although he was an orphan, he was brave and not afraid of any difficulties. Character Analysis The negative parts ： Selfishness Vengeance (复仇） Inferiority Selfishness and Vengeance Heathecliff loved Catherine so much that he should have tried his best to make her happy. However, his vengeful machinations(图谋） drove him cruel and made his heart full of hatred. Inferiority When Heathecliff saw the elegant Catherine, he hide himself behind the chair, afraid to come out; when Catherine decided to marry Linton, he just run away from home.
