He devoted his whole life to do the research on China and human life. He started rural reconstruction experiment in 1930s. His philosophy of RR includes to create a new culture to rescue depleted old rural areas aiming to achieve farmers’ self-awareness , rural villages’ self governance, through institutional innovation starting at rural but scale up to the whole country.
