Abstract:A large tidalmodel of the Yangtze Estuary, approved by theMinistry of Communications, hasbeen setupinShang-
hai, for the purpose of resolving some technical problems in execution of the Yangtze Estuary deep water channel regulation pro-
ject.The model, with the main characteristic of simulating successfully the rotary current in the open sea outside of the Yangtze Estu-
ary, makes the tidal current field of the engineering section and its adjacent waters similar to the prototype, and provides reliable ba-
sis for the research of the engineering problems.
