Due to the various ecologies, histories, religions, national conditions and customs of all the nations, their logical modes of thinking are not the same. Different modes of thinking form different modes of expression. However, the widely different cultural backgrounds and living habits between the east and west countries certainly influence and control the logical thinking between English and Chinese. The differences of logical thinking between English and Chinese influence the linguistic expression to different extents. Only the understanding of the differences of logical thinking between English and Chinese contributes to English expression by means of English logical thinking, which can be more easily accepted by native speakers. This paper analyzes the differences in logical thinking between English and Chinese in linguistic expression, translation and writing and probes into the cause in the aspect of cultural backgrounds and living habits in order to eliminate the misunderstanding in cross-cultural communication. Through investigation, it is found that there are more the differences than similarities in the logical thinking between English and Chinese. People can get a better way to learn English by researching the differences in the logical thinking between English and Chinese.
