In order to be well-informed, a person must get information from many different news resources. No one can deny that human society has stepped into an information era, in which everybody spares no effort to keep well-informed. As a matter of fact, some people would prefer to get information from a single and fixed news resource in case they get confused. However, from my standpoint, acquiring information from diverse resources is of utter importance. It is undeniable that the more sources, the less likely it is that people may get biased information. In fact, all media in the world have their own stances and values so that the best way for people to balance biased influence is by acquiring the same information from various sources. For instance, supposing someone only watches TVBS news, which is very friendly to the ruling party in Taiwan. To gather information about politics in Taiwan, it is very hard for him to make an objective argument when he has to debate with others about the government’s policy. Similarly, in order to have a better understanding of what is going on in Lybia, we had better keep an eye on the news reports from media of different countries including China, Russia and the countries in NATO. Therefore, various sources of information is what keeps someone being impartial.Furthermore, the more capable a person is to obtain information from different sources, the easier someone can determine this information is genuine or not. Some people may refuse my first point by indicating that too many sources makes people get confused by a plenty of information; however, they do not take a critical aspect into consideration—that fake information is not amenable. The earthquake which happened in Japan last year can function as a good example to illustrate this point.
