M ethods:Mu- rine tu or cell line H22was inoculated into. Then different doses of chitosan oligosaccharidewere injected into the ice-bearing H22 liver carcino a, IL-2 and IFN-γin the serawere easured by ELISA assay. The in vitro ant-i proliferation activity of chitosan oligosac- charide on the lung carcino a LH-7 cellswas evaluated byMTT assay. Results:Chitosan oligosaccharide inhibited in vivo the growth of H22 tu or cells, with increasing the content of IL-2 and IFN-γin sera of the tu o-r bearing ice. Theweight of spleen and thy us of the icewere increasedwhen co pared with those of controlgroup;tissue necrosiswas observed in the tu or in situ;chitosan oligo- saccharide also inhibited the growth ofLH-7 cells in vitro. The inhibitory effectwas shown in a concentration dependent pattern, but not correrlated with incubation ti e. The early characteristics of apoptosis of LH-7 cell could be observed under the trans ission elec- tronic icroscopy. Conclusion:Chitosan oligosaccharide inhibits proliferation of tu or and i proves i unity function of the hosts, and ight induce apoptosis of LH-7 cells.
