Methods　A retrospective analysis of 78 patients with HIV infection from November 2010 to May 2015 was done to summarize the cause of occupational exposure and correct protective process. Results　All 78 operations were successfully completed. A total of 17 occupational exposure appeared. A total of 4 three-level occupational exposures occurred, in which three cases of occupational exposure occurred in emergency operation of HIV infected patients and one in elective surgery.
