2014.№6 27 150040 TM306 A 1000-3983(2014)06-0027-05 Fault Analysis and Processing for Large Generator Stator Winding SHAO Yongbin (State Key Laboratory of Hydro-power Equipment, Harbin 150040, China) Abstract We summarize the common fault analysis and processing of large generator stator winding according to the experiences of stator winding fault processing for many years. The most common cause for the fault is that the workers could not obey the installation procedure during stator windings assembly, which causes the coils to discharge in high voltage test or damages the coil insulation layer in trial operation test. An other cause is that some auxiliary equipments surpassed its service life have potential danger, which could lead to stator windings breakdown during operation. The metal foreign body left in generator during installing or major overhaul could also bring about the stator winding to breakdown. Lastly, we introduce the multi-loop theory which is used to analyze the internal fault of the stator winding. The theory combined with the finite element calculation method is also used to judge single-phase earth fault location.
