Apart from development of e onomy, prote tion of environment and progress of so iety, sustainable devel- opment requires a kind of development idea and judgement basis. Community-involved tourism development is exa tly the indispensible me hanism in the ma ro- system of sustainable tourism development . T he arti le tries to begin from this aspe t to analyse the different stratifi ation and immanent me hanism based on the on ept of ommunity involvement. T hen the methods and measures for the realization of the ommunity-involved tourism development are offered to provide the poli y-making basis for the formulating of poli ies in the development of tourism in a ordan e with the problems existing in the present-day China.
