Liaoning University of Traditional Chinese Medicine，Shenyang 110847，Liaoning，China） Abstract：It is to summarize the understandings of the pathogenesis of stroke of ancient physicians， combined with collateral disease theory and the physiological characteristics and functions of brain. We put forward the pathogenesis of stroke is Qiluo Shitiao，Xueluo Butong，Luoshang Dujin，of which，Qiluo Shitiao is the most important pathogenesis in the period of harbinger of stroke，and Xueluo Butong，Luoshang Dujin is the most important pathogenesis in the period of acute phase and convalescence，to lay the theoretical foundation to innovative diagnosis and treatment of stroke.
