The author finds that both Chinese and English menus are available in designated restaurants in Shanghai, and even on the menu of some old restaurants, they even indicate that they have received the heads of the western powers. However, after reading carefully, I found a lot of problems. Nonstandard and incorrect translation not only affects the consumption and consumption of foreign friends in China, but also relates to the whole image of the city and the country. The bilingual menu translation of Shanghai cuisine is worth exploring here. Problems existing in Chinese English translation of menus (a) spelling confusion; Spelling error is the most common and most neglected problem in menu translation. An old restaurant translates the following three dishes: Coose Web with Mashrooms button mushroom goose, steamed turbot Setamed Turbot Sweet Osmanthns Cake, sweet scented osmanthus sugar cake. The correct spellings are Goose, Web, with, Mushrooms, Steamed, Turbot, and Sweet Osmanthus Cake. This kind of low level error has at least thirty or so on the menu of this restaurant, the overseas visitor sees this kind of menu, will feel at a loss or
