JournalofAgriculturalScienceandTechnologyA3(2013)703-710 Earliertitle：JournalofAgriculturalScienceandTechnology，ISSN 1939-1250 I量；H IN I瞄 InvestigationofDifferentCharactersofStomataon ThreeCocoaCIoneswithResistanceLeveIDifferenceto VSD(VascularStreakdieback)Disease IndahAnita-SariandAgungW ahyuSusilo IndonesianCoffeeandCocoaResearchInstitute(ICCPd)，Jembe~EastJava，Indonesia Received：July15，2013／Published：September20，2013 Abstract：The developmentofthe science ofcytology and genetics．particularly on cel1structure and function provided a breakthrough forbreedersand allowedofreraly selection．Chraacterofstomatadensity onsomecommoditieswasreported as importnatfactorto determinethediseaseresistance．TheresearchwasdoneofrgeRinginofrmation aboutthedifferencesinthe stomatacharactersinfluencedonthelevelofVascularStreakdieback(VSD1resistanceoncocoa．Theresearchwasconductedinthe LaboratoryofGenetics．GadjahMadaUniversityandleavessampleswereconductedinKendengLembuGardeas．PTPNxII．The researchusedasplitplotdesignwiththreefactorsincludedthetyDeofcloneswithdifferent1evelsofVSDdiseaseresistance(PA l9l，BL703andGS29)，leafposition(top，middleandbase)nadleafage(youngandold)．Stomatacharactersincludednumberof stomata．stomataopeningwidth，stomatawidena dstomatadiameterwereobserved．Theresultsshowedthatthestomatacharactersin threecacaogenotypeswim difflerentresistancelevelsindicatedadifferenceinnumberofstomata,stomatasize．stomataopening width．stomatawidenadstomatadiameter．StomatanumberstomataopeningwidthandstomatadiameteronPA 191(resistance clone、werelowerthanthesusceptibleclones(BL703danGS29)．Thelowestofnumberanddiameterstomataonthebaseposition ontheoldleavestissues．Numberofstomat stomataopeningwidthandstomatadiameterwereestimatedroleinmechanism ofVSD resistanceandthatwereexpectedcouldbeusedascriteriaselectiontoVSDresistnace． Keywords：Character，stomata，resistnace，V
