构造地质学的一些基本名词（Some basic terms of structural geology） The second chapter is about the primary structure and occurrence of sedimentary rocks Rock layer: a stratified rock mass with two or less parallel interfaces or nearly parallel boundaries, called rock formations Bedding: a stratified structure indicated by rock composition, structure, and color on a cross section of variation or gradual change. There are three basic types of bedding: parallel bedding, wavy bedding, and diagonal bedding Primary structure: the structural characteristics of non tectonic changes produced by sedimentary rocks during the process of deposition and diagenesis. They are called primary structures of sedimentary rocks, such as bedding and bedding structures Determining the top and bottom of a rock formation by using the primary structure of sedimentary rocks: 1. oblique bedding: the fine bedding of each group is related to the main layer at the top of the stratum, while it is gradually related to the bottom of the strata 2. graded bedding: from the bottom to the top of the grain size gradually tapering. There are volcano clastic particle bedding in tuffaceous mainly, also can be used to predict the top surface and the bottom surface mark. But in the deep level of the metamorphic rocks, fine recrystallization may become thicker, judge failure. 3.: many kinds of ripple ripples, can indicate the top and bottom are symmetrical wave ripple, wave direction of the tip of the top surface to the bottom surface of Ao arc trough. 4., mud crack: mud crack in the section on the V or U type, the tip points to the old formation 5. rain, hail marks, and impression: pits or nodular impression of the arc shape is always concave or convex to the bottom surface of the rock. 6. scour marks: traces produced by flushing of water and printed film on the bottom of overlying sedimentary rocks, indicating the top and bottom surfaces 7. the growth and burial of fossil fossils The dip of the bed: is the rock level in th
