Under fedora15, connect to the FTP server
(1) the basic commands used

1.ftp open
Explanation: connect to the FTP server
2.ftp? Or help?
Description: help command, #? Dir dir command that will list
3.ftp! Or, exit, or, quit, or, bye, or,, close, or, disconnect
Explanation: quit
Where: disconnect, close, return ftp
Of which: exit, byte, quit, return shell#
4.ftp ASCII or binary
Instructions: by default, set the file transfer type to ASCII or BINARY
5.ftp, bell, on, or, bell, off
Description: ring switch
7.ftp status
Explanation: shows the current status of the FTP connection and transformation.
8.ftp system
Description: displays the remote host system type.
9.ftp type
Description: sets or displays the file transfer type
Example: type, or, type, ASCII, type, binary
10.ftp user user-name password
Instructions: log in again with another user name.
