R . China Abstr act: T he ferronickel submerged arc fur nace slags are st ored up more and more, as a result, seriously influenced the su st ainable developm ent of the nickel indu stry. By gr inding, the ferronickel subm er ged arc furnace slag is mechanically act ivat ed, then can be u sed as supplement ary cement it iou s m aterial, thu s a comprehen sive ut ilization way of fer ronickel subm erged arc furnace slag is develop ed . Using such processed slag t o r eplace cem ent from 10% t o 40% in mass, with the increase of replacing dosage, the wat er dem and of st andar d con sistency of cement p ast e is lowered, the fluidity of mort ar is r aised; the compressive strength of mort ar is decreased; the flexural strength is increased followed by a decrease aft er the dosage is above 10% , the r at io of flexural str ength t o compressive strength is increased . T he exp eriment al result s indicate that the ferronickel submerged ar c furnace slag can b e u sed as supplement ary cement it ious mat erial and has an increase of flexur al strength and effect of plast icizing and wat er reducing.
