Standard 4: comparison of Chinese and foreign cultures and intercultural communication
Teachers should understand the main similarities and differences between Chinese and foreign culture, understand the main concepts of Sinology and cross-cultural communication, and culture, intercultural communication in language teaching and learning, and the theory and application of knowledge in teaching practice.
Standard 4.1 teachers should understand the characteristics and history of Chinese and foreign civilizations.
Standard 4.2 teachers should understand the main similarities and differences between China and foreign countries in the political system and legal system.
Standard 4.3 teachers should know the main religious sects of the world and the main philosophical schools of thought in the world.
Standard 4.4 teachers should have the basic knowledge of Sinology, understand the general situation of Sinology research abroad, and can be applied to Chinese teaching practice.
Standard 4.5 teachers should keep abreast of current important events in the world today and apply them appropriately to teaching.
Standard 4.6 teachers should understand the main concepts of culture and intercultural communication, understand the role of culture and intercultural communication in language teaching, and apply it to language teaching practice.
4.7 teachers should the pragmatics knowledge and teaching practice about application of knowledge to cultivate students communicative ability.
