自动化餐厅――就餐也惊险A high-tech restaurant in Germany has no waiters. But it’s not a fast food chain; it’s a nice, sit-down place. Once the host seats you at the “Baggers” restaurant in Nuremberg, the rest of the adventure relies on automated[自动化的] services. Instead of waiters and waitresses, inside it is pots, cups and bottles on a roller coaster ride. The owners say they have designed what they believe is the world’s first fully automated food ordering and delivery system. Customers order on a computer screen and the chef is immediately fast at work making the dish. When complete, the food is placed on a food sled[雪橇] which is delivered to your table, hands free, on a mini roller coaster. Most customers tell us they came for the entertainment value. “I’ve never seen anything like this before,” a woman said. “I think it’s really funny.” “It makes eating an adventure,” a man said. “Certainly something totally different.” But the restaurant’s creator says what looks like a cute gimmick[暗机关] makes pretty good business sense as well. “In a fast food restaurant, imagine customers dont have to go to the counter,” one of the owners said. “You don’t need an employee to order, or for the payment process. The food just slides[滑] to the table. It all becomes more efficient with less personnel.” Efficiency is what its all about. No waiters, and of course, no tip. One drawback is that you have to use a credit card or ATM注to buy the food.
