* Grammar 省略 定义： 省略句是为了避免重复、突出新信息并使上下文紧密连接的一种语法修辞手段。省略在语言中，尤其在对话中，是一种十分普遍的现象。 重点一、从句中的省略 1、在while,when,if,as if,though,although,as,until, once, whether,unless,where等连接的状语从句中，从句的主语与主句的主语一致时，可省去“主语+be”部分 When (he was) still a boy of 10, he had to work day and night. (2) She tried her best though (she was) rather poor in health. (3). Are you going to the party? ---No, unless invited. (4). He opened his mouth as if (he were) to speak. (5). The river is clean where (it is) deep. (6). If given another ten minutes, I could have finished passage D.= Another ten minutes and I --- = Given another --- 当状语从句的主语和谓语部分是it is/was时，it is/was可能省略。 You must eat it when (it is) fresh. If (it is) heated, water becomes steam. When (it is) necessary you can help us to do something. Help him if ( it is) possible. 重点二、 某些使役动词（let, make, have）及感官动词（see, watch, hear, notice, observe, feel, look at, listen to等）后面作宾语补足语的不定式一定要省去 to, 但在被动语态中须将to 复原。 I saw the boy fall from the tree. (3）Should there be a flood, what should we do? 重点四、不定式的省略 I went there because I want to. ---will you join us? ---Yes I’d love to. 在下列词后常省略不定式 但要保留 ‘to’: want wish like hate hope intend plan love refuse expect 重点五、在一些交际用语中的某些动词，如： believe , do, expect, fear, guess, hope, say, speak, suppose, think 等及 I’m afraid等后常常和so, not等连用，以替代上文出现的内容，肯定时上列动词都可与so 搭配，否定时hope与guess 只用I hope not 和I guess not 形式，而think ,believe , suppose 等词可有两种否定形式 ，即：I think not 或I don’t think so. *
