And y analyzing the existing setting conditions of traffic sign pointed, the asis of setting traffic sign is got. Then the process of changing lanes from the outer second one to the outer first one on ur an expressway is analyzed in detail. On the asis of it and y means of pro a ility analysis, the theoretical model of operating distance when vehicles merging from the second lane to the first one is o tained, and then the theoretical distancemodel of traffic sign to the egin- ning point of off-ramp is also acquired Lastly the distance of traffic sign to the eginning point of of-f ramp elonging to different designing velocity was calculated out.
