The nondestructive test of nine Be assemblies are carried out underwater in the storage pool of HFETR. Dimension and density of the irradiated surveillance specimens are also measured in semi-hot cells. The evaluation on irradiation behavior of Be based on the results from the tests indicates that the home made Be has good performances against irradiation and corrosion, the design of HFETR Be assemblies are reasonable and the management of the core Be assemblies is scientific. Some suggestions for measures on Be irradiation surveillance have been proposed. Key words: HFETR,
