Some people have suggested that IR is a major underpinning link between physical inactivity and metabolic syndrome. IR is a known complication of cardiovascular disease as well as chronic kidney disease. Although there are a number of methods to assess IR, controversy about how to make it accurately and easily still exists. The way of IR treatment involves drug therapy and non-drug therapy. The purpose of this review is to provide a overview of the measurements and treatments of IR, and to discuss the possible perspectives.
