The Stolen Party About The Author ? Liliana Heker was born in 1943 in Buenos Aires. In Argentina this versatile author is known not only through her numerous novels and shorter narratives, but through being a socially committed journalist. ? The Plot of Stolen Party ? The story is about a house cleaner and her daughter. The daughter, unaware of her predicament as the child of a lower class woman, feels no apprehension at attending a birthday party given by her mothers employer. When the employer, Sefiora Ines, offers Rosaura (the daughter) money, something changes. ? In what ways was the party stolen? ? All the gifts were stolen? The cakes were stolen? Happiness was stolen? No. The title of the story refers to the fact that Rosauras innocence has been stolen from her at the party. ? The Hidden Meaning ofThe Stolen Party ? If we lived in a perfect world: be equal, have the same prestige ,live in peace. But we are reminded of such a world :separate the lower class from the upper class.; full of the discrimination and inhumane treatment ;some people feel they have the right to inflict on those whom they consider not one of them. ?
