R. China yanggangjia @ Abstract Former research about network coding used in wireless Mesh Networks is assumed that the networks are all no collision. That is too ideal in a practical wireless communication system. In our paper, a WMN with collision is built to study the gain Network Coding may bring in that condition. In order to solve the collision, a window-based MAC protocol is also introduced into the WMN. With extensive experiments carried, we confirm that Network Coding can improve the performance of the practical network and reduce the possibility of collision. And the diverse in the network can further increase the gain of Network Coding.
