The span-height-ratio of lintel beam of each set is 1. 5. The f irstm ode l is natura l concrete coupled shear w all, the second is coupled shear w a ll w ith 100% replacem ent of recycled aggregate and the third is coupled shear w a ll w ith variable con- crete along he ight. Based upon the exp ermi ental study, the stiffness and its degradat ion, load- carry ing capac ity, hysteretic behav ior, du ctility, energy dissipation and failure phenomena o f each shear w allw ere analyzed. T he calculation formu las of the bearing cap acity for RC coupled shearw allw ere derived. F rom an expermi enta l analysis, it is proved that com pared to the RC coupled common w alls, the recycled concrete shear w alls show poorer p erformance and the shearw allsw ith up- per part using recycled concrete and low er part u sing natura l concrete have the smi ilar p erform ance o f comm on w a ll.
