The T-type equivalent-circuit is very effective for the latter. The use of a simple series reactance model to represent the on-off transformer is explored in the paper. The model has adequate accuracy for AC motor load. The simulation is carried out using the equivalent-circuit model for soft starting course of high-voltage AC motor. It provides a powerful tool for analyzing and designing high-voltage AC motor soft starter. A soft starter of the high-voltage asynchronous motor is successfully designed on the base.
