Methods Eighty patients were assigned to two groups randomly and compared with each other. One group ( N-CWS group, n= 40) was treatedwith CBP,while the other ( CBP group, n= 40) was treated with CBP alone. Results The effective rates of the N-CWS group and the CBP group were 9 % and 7 % , respectively ( P 0.0 ) . Conclusions The intrapleural cavity perfusion of N- CWS combinedwith CBP in treating pleural effusion arising from lung cancer is significantly more effective than that with CBP alone.
