L td. , T aiy an 030012) Abstract Screen ing and eval ating the germp lasm reso rces is mi portant for the standard ization of c ltivation and planting of R adix Astragali ( RA ). In th is st dy, UVV is spectrophotom etry and HPLC w ere sed to determ ine the contents of total flavonoids, calycosin and formononetin in vario s RAs collected from different so rces introd ced to Shanx.i The res lts show ed that the contents of the above componentsw ere not only related to their c lt re styles and origins, b t also closely related to the germplasms. A stragal s germp lasm from Shanxi and Shaanxi w ere s itable to be w idely p lanted in the local regions, w hile those introd ced from Gans , InnerMongolia, and Shanxi toH ny an, Shanxi had a h igher degree of flavonoids than those from their corre spond ing original regions, hencew ere s itable for large introd ction. The correlation analysis f rther show ed that the level of calycosin w as significantly correlated to the level of formononetin.
