深圳牛津版 九年级 第1期 单元要点概览;Golden girl Yu-Na Kim; Yu-Na Kim was born in 1990 in South Korea. In March 2007, she moved to Toronto, Ontario, Canada to train with Brian Orser. ;In 2009, Kim enrolled1 at Korea Univer-sity, but she continued to train in Canada. Kim began skating at the age of 7. Her coach at the time, Ryu Jong-Hyeon, impr-essed with2 Kim’s talent, strongly suggested to Kim’s mother that Kim should continue to skate, saying that she would become a world-class figure skater in the future. ; In 2002, Kim competed internationally for the first time at the Triglav Trophy, where she won the gold medal in the novice (新手) competition. A year later, she won the senior title (冠军) at the South Korean Figure Skating Championships, becoming the youngest skater ever to win that title.; Coming into the Olympics, Kim was a favourite to win gold in the women’s figure skating competition. She lived up to those expectations3. Her score of 228.56 points set a new world record.
