The Application of the Sub- Model Method in the
Casting Crane Strength Analysis

ABSTRACT This paper presents a new methodto predict the fatigue life of casting crane. The strength of a casting
crane in a steel plant is calculated through adopting FEM and sub- model method. The result conforms that theweakest
part of welding strength is consistent with the actual case. Then ,On the basis of the dynamic- static stress test at field,
the fatigue life of the crane. s main beam can be attainedby integrating with the modifiedp - s - N curve theMiner rule
and the actual load spectrum.
