T he w ilting coefficients and the survival days of turfgrass ( Poa p ratensis ) and 6 main weeds ( Viola prionantha, igitaria ischaemum, Geranium sibiricum, Potentilla anserine, Inula britanica and Potentilla sup ina) in the temperate semi arid region were measured under drought stress and the droughtresistances w ere compared according to the soil w ater depleted index ( SWDI) . The results showed that t he w ilting coefficient of igitaria ischaemum w as t he lowest, t hen Poap ratensi the second, and that of Inula britanica w as the highest. The w ilting coefficients of Poap ratensis, igitaria ischaemum were remarkably different from that of Inula britanica and Geranium sibiricum . The physiological droughtresistances of the seven species were in the order of Poap ratensis igitaria ischaemum Potentilla sup ina Potentilla anserina Violap rionantha Geranium sibiricum Inula britanica.
