T he algorithm recursively ca l culates the crosscorre lation function betw een the sent signal and the rece ived one using real add ition s; a d iscrete rectangu lar linear frequ ency m odu lated signal ( DRLFM ) is u sed to excite the u ltrasonic generator. The presented m ethod is faster than FFT based crosscorrelat ion est mi ation; p arallel processing can be rea lized and no ex tra m em ory is requ ired.
