2.show the new words and some pictures on the screen.teach the new words : invent, adjustable, battery - operated, slipper, heat, calculator, scoop. be used for, in the dark.
Step3. Presentation
Show some pictures on the screen, the teacher have a conversation with the Ss. E.g.
T: what is it ?
S: It’s a telephone.
T: when was it invented ?
S: It was invented in 1876.
T: who was it invented by ?
S: It was invented by Bell.
T: what is it used for ?
S: It is used for talking information.
In the same way, practice the other words.

Listen to the tape
Check the answer.
Step6. Pairwork ( 1c ,2c )
Have the Ss practice the conversation in 1c.
Ask a few Ss to act out the dialogue.
