ABSTRACT: Precise smi u lation of gear intensity is a prerequ isite for optmi um design and param eter computational
inverse studies of gear. The exact curve of tooth profile is produced. By the m ethod for parametric m odeling w ith
MATLAB andAPDL(ANSYS Param etricDesign Language), a precisem odel of gear is bu ilt. Based on a com parative
analysis of smi u lation resu lts in two k inds of fin ite element models, the smi u lation resu lts suggest a need for elmi ina
ting round ing error. On the d ifferent grid density grades, the resu lts of com pliances and root stresses d istribution are
smi ulated and analyzed. By contrasting w ith the resu lts of experiential form ulas, a conclusion can be drawn: Grid den
sity grades affect evidently the smi ulation resu lts of the max- comp liances, bu t inconspicuously the smi u lation results
of the average com pliances, total comp liances and root stress.
