第六章 货运代理人与无船承运人 Freight forwarder and NVOCC 第一节 货运代理人 Freight forwarder;一、货运代理概述(Introduction to freight forwarding) ;The freight forwarding originated in Europe as early as the 10th century. At its early stage, freight forwarder only acted as agent of the cargo owner rather than in the capacity of cargo carrier. Since 1960s, with the rapid development of multimodal transport, door to door service and IT technology, freight forwarding enterprises have got more direct involvement in the cargo transportation, rather than merely as intermediary.

Freight Forwarding Services means services of any kind relating to the carriage, consolidation, storage, handling, packing or distribution of the Goods as well as ancillary and advisory services in connection therewith, including but not limited to customs and fiscal matters税务事项, declaring the Goods for official purposes, procuring insurance of the Goods and collecting or procuring payment or documents relating to the Goods.;Freight Forwarding Services also include logistical services with modern information and communication technology in connection with the carriage, handling or storage of the goods, and de facto total supply chain management. These services can be tailored to meet the flexible application of the services provided.;Freight Forwarder means the person concluding a contract of Freight Forwarding Services with a Customer.
