The basic structure of spark plug

The spark plug electrode comprises a center electrode and a side electrode, wherein the spark gap is arranged between them. The size of the gap directly affects the engines starting, power, working stability and economy. The reasonable clearance is related to the ignition voltage. The electrode material must have good resistance to electrical erosion (spark erosion) and corrosion (chemical - thermal corrosion), and should have good thermal conductivity.
