Methods: cases were randomly divided into 153 two groups the treatment group of with ACH and the 82 treated syndrome differentiation method and the control group of cases only with ACH. Observations 70 were made on the changes of urinary protein, plasma albumin, blood-fat and blood rheology before and after the treatment and on the differences of recurrence rate and the incidence rate of adverse reaction between the two groups. Results: The total effective rate in the treatment group reached 90.2%, while the control group 71.4% (P 0.05). The improvement of urinary protein, plasma albumin, cholesterol and blood rheology in the treatment group was better than that in the control group (P 0.05 ~ 0.01). The recurrence rate (4.9%) and the incidence rate of adverse reaction (15.9%) in the treatment group were lower than those with 20% and 42.9% respectively in the control group (P 0.05). Conclusions: The better therapeutic effect can be achieved for primary nephrotic syndrome through the application of both ACH and the syndrome differentiation method than the single use of ACH.
