胸膜间皮瘤43例诊断分析（Diagnosis and analysis of pleural mesothelioma a report of 43 cases） Diagnosis and analysis of pleural mesothelioma: a report of 43 cases Update: 2011-03-22 Yihu van Mei Qi Pleural mesothelioma has a high fatality rate, a difficult diagnosis and a high rate of misdiagnosis. Among the 24 cases reported abroad, 1 cases were not diagnosed preoperatively, and 132 cases were reported in China, and 85 cases were misdiagnosed, which is enough to explain the difficulty of diagnosis [1]. 43 cases of pleural mesothelioma proved by pathology in our hospital from 1974 to 1999 are reported and analyzed in order to further improve the diagnosis of pleural mesothelioma. 1 data and methods 1.1 cases were selected from 1974 to 1999, 43 patients with pleural mesothelioma were confirmed by pathology, including 24 males and 19 females, aged 6~72 years, with an average age of 40.6 years. There were no records of asbestos exposure. The 1.2 main clinical symptoms of 43 cases of pleural mesothelioma patients with symptoms of chest pain, cough, shortness of breath, then, see table 1. The first symptoms of pleural mesothelioma in 143 cases Percentage of symptoms *% (%) Chest pain 20 Forty-six point five Cough 1637.2 Shortness of breath 1227.9 Fever 818.6 49.3 of Phlegm Blood Other symptoms 49.3 Physical examination found 1023.3 Note: * there are more than 1 symptoms in some cases 1.3 X-ray chest X-ray showed pleural nodules (51.2%), of which 16 cases of pleural nodules (37.2%), diffuse nodules in 6 cases (14%); irregular nodular pleural thickening in 4 cases (9.3%), pleural effusion in 10 cases (23.3%), 3 cases of huge masses (7%) in 2 cases, pleural calcification (4.7%), 1 cases of pleural fibrous plaques. The right side (21 cases) was more than the left side (19 cases) and bilateral lesions in 3 cases. 8 cases of benign localized fibrous pleural mesothelioma showed solitary solitary nodules. 1.4 CT chest CT scan showed irregular pleural thickening often surrounding lung tissue
