R.China ) Abstrac t: A ccording to them onitoring data at 13 sam pling sites ofLake D ianshan from M ay to Septem er 2008, the relationship ewt een chlorophyl-l a concentrations and environm ental factors(w ater temperature, pH, DO, TN and TP) w as investigated. The results indicated that there w as an o viou s tem poral and spatial variation of chlorophyll-a. The first cyano acterial loom in 2008 2 occurred on July 23 atQ iandungang site and Youyongchang site. Them ost severe loom covered a total area of 17km on Augu st 27. Significantly positive logarithm ic correlation w as found etw een chlorophyl-l a and total phosphorus, ut not for amm onia nitro- gen, nitrate nitrogen and totalnitrogen. Phosphorusm ight e them ain lmi ited factor in Lake Dianshan. Significantly positive corre- lations w ere found ewt een chlorophyll-a concentration and w ater temperature, pH, disso lved oxygen, andm arkedly negative corre- lation ewt een chlorophyll-a and transparency.
