The condition starts with the formation of urinary crystals that may in the right conditions, progress to form uroliths (stones) within the urinary tract. In dogs, uroliths are most commonly found in the bladder; kidney uroliths have also been diagnosed, but to a far lesser extent. Uroliths form when urine becomes supersaturated with respect to the ionic components of a specific stone type, leading to crystal precipitation, coagulate and growth. ?Factors influencing the risk of urolithiasis in dogs include the concentration of the solutes involved, urine p
